Nicotine Lozenge
A Nicotine Lozenge is often used as an alternative to Nicotine Gum, as it is less obvious than chewing gum. It comes in a variety of strengths, depending on the brand you buy.
The lozenge is to be taken every 1-2 hours, by placing under the tongue and allowing to dissolve (do not suck or chew a nicotine lozenge), the nicotine is released and absorbed through the lining of the mouth.
A normal course should involve reducing the number of lozenges per day after the first two weeks until your cravings subside.
Side Effects
- Always follow manufacturers recommendations!
- Research has shown that the stronger lozenge (4mg) can also help reduce weight gain that often occurs when quitting smoking.
